Pune Stock：Glenn Maxwell recalls when Virat Kohli blocked him on Instagram in 2021

Australia all rounder Glenn Maxwell recently revealed that star India batter Virat Kohli had blocked him on Instagram. Notably, Maxwell joined Kohli’s IPL (Indian Premier League) team Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2021 as he was bought for a whopping INR 14.25 crorePune Stock. After playing at RCB, over the years, Kohli and Maxwell built a strong bond but the duo also had a strained relationship in the past.

Recently in a podcast, the Australian star revealed how he was welcomed by the former RCB captain in 2021 after being bought by the franchise. He further revealed that after having a chat with Kohli at the RCB training camp, he went on social media to follow his skipper but couldn’t find him on social media.

"When I knew that I was going to RCB, Virat was the first guy to message me and welcome me to the team. When I turned up for the pre-IPL training camp, we obviously got chatting and spent a fair bit of time training together as you doUdabur Stock. So I go to his social media, to follow him. Didn't even think about it before that. Never really crossed my mind. I was like 'I can’t find him," Maxwell said on the LiSTNR Sport podcast.

Further ahead, the all rounder revealed that someone mentioned it to him that Kohli might’ve blocked him and hence he couldn’t find him.

"I'm sure he's on social media somewhere so I didn't think anything of it. Not really that maybe he wasn't savvy with Instagram. Didn't really understand why he wasn't coming up and then someone mentioned that he might have blocked youIndore Investment. That is the only way you’re not able to find him. I was like surely not,” he added.

Maxwell finally confronted Kohli who admitted to have blocked him as he mocked his shoulder injury during the third Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy in Ranchi, 2017.

"Then I went and asked him 'Have you blocked me on Instagram?' And he was like, 'Yeah probably. It was when you mocked me during that Test match. I think I got the sh*** and decided to block you. I was like 'yeah, that's fair enough'. So yeah, he ended up unblocking me, and we became great friends after that," added Maxwell.
